After dragging a bag of dive gear the whole length of England, then over to Sark via Guernsey, I was dissapointed not to be able to arrange some diving due to Andy of Sark Diving doing mooring work, so instead I done some unsuccesful fishing in Maseline Harbour, when a gust of wind managed to blow my daughters towel (a present from the 2006 World Cup) into the harbour. I rang Andy again & asked to hire a tank & some weights to recover the towel, which Andy obliged with 2 tanks & weights left at the harbour cafe for £4!
I spent a good 2 hours messing around in Maseline Harbour with a max depth of 9.5m, recovered the towel (needs a good wash) any amount of fishing weights, a brand new anchor chain & shackles (left for Andy) also the amount of life was excellent :-
Bass
Wrasse - all types
Lobster
Edible Crab
Velvet swimming Crab
Pollack
Pouting
Ormers - didn't know they were a delicacy, could've got a bag full
& a sea hare I think (looked like a snail with no shell)
Overall a good days diving & definitely worth carting my gear down.
