Ways to Learn

There are a number of easily accessible ways to learn to dive in the UK.  You could join BSAC or SSAC where you'll receive ongoing training and support from members within a club in your area.  Follow the links on the Homepage for both of these organisations which provide details on how to join and your nearest club.

If you want to take a PADI course, Diversinc have partnered with the PADI Academy of Diving, which boasts a PADI Instructor with over 30 years diving experience who has instructed both in the UK and abroad.  Training is provided at centres in Milngavie and Johnstone.  The following courses are available:

Drysuit Diver

Wanna stay warm and toasty on a dive? Then stay out of the water. What? Stay out of the water? Yes! Unlike a wetsuit, a dry suit seals you off from the outside water. In the PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty course, you’ll learn how to use a dry suit. And that keeps you warm! Even in very cold water.

This course is designed to introduce you to the Dry Suit and develop your skills, knowledge and techniques necessary for dry suit diving. Issues such as Operation Principles, Care and Maintenance and Diving techniques are addressed. You will also cover problem and hazard solving, and proper Buoyancy control with ascent and descent sessions. Finally we look at preventative maintenance and performance checks.

It involves a pool orientation, followed by two dives in the Sea.

Our Drysuit Specialty priced at £110 includes your manual and certification. If you need equipment for your course you will be eligible for our reduced student training rate of £20 per day.

Cost

£110.00

Advanced Open Water

Move up and experience real adventure with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. As you step beyond the PADI Open Water Diver level, you make five dives and have the opportunity to try some of diving’s most rewarding and useful specialty activities, such as deep diving, digital underwater photography, wreck diving and much more. These skills make diving much more than underwater sightseeing. Plus, the Advanced Open Water Diver course takes you one step closer to Master Scuba Diver – the ultimate non professional certification in recreational diving.

This is a 5 dive course completed over 1 weekend. 2 core dives, navigation and deep, introduce you to new and exciting areas of exploration, while 3 elective dives of your choice complete the course. These dives may include night diving, wreck diving, or undewater photography, to name just a few. There is a small element of home study completed by watching a video and reading the book “Adventures in Diving“. The cost of the course includes use of all equipment and certification materials. Over night accommodation may be necessary, as well as any boat charges incurred. To take part in this course you must be already qualified as an Open Water Diver or equivalent.
